Whew! This past six weeks has flown by. Hard to believe our summer is half over. The family went to visit the northeast and see some historical sites and geographical wonders. We flew into Connecticut and drove up to New Hampshire where we “set up camp” for the week. We stayed at the Village of Loon Mountain in Lincoln. It was a wonderful trip with beautiful and inspiring sights to see.
Almost as soon as we got back my daughter and I left with our church youth group for a trip to Montreat for a week of spiritual rejuvenation and encouragement. A wonderful week was had by all. I thank God for those opportunities to experience his peace and encouragement in times like these. I love the mountains and feel a sense of belonging in the Smokies. My family goes back generations on the Tennessee side. I’ve heard it said, “the air is thinner there”. I feel that every time I go, a closeness to God that I feel nowhere else.
After we returned my daughter came down with a bug that she then shared with me. It took us more than two weeks to get over it. Now I’m feeling ready to tackle my “summer list”. I’m setting goals for each day to move toward completion of the many projects I have lined up.
- New Flooring
- Update guest bathroom
